Kings Metal Polishing was founded by Joe King In 1993. Joe has been a master polisher now for more than 20 years.
Joe King is a native Sarasotian. He grew up riding BMX bikes, motocross bikes, and go-karts. This grew into an interest to build and show low rider trucks. This required mechanical, welding, fabricating, and painting skills to completely strip a truck to its frame and rebuild it from the ground up. It further required lots of polished metal parts to have that custom look necessary to compete. The end result was several trophies for his efforts and the birth of Kings Metal Polishing.
It was at this point in his career that he outgrew the home garage and officially opened his shop near downtown Sarasota. Since then, Joe has rebuilt many cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more from the ground up restoring it to its original condition. His attention to detail and commitment to quality craftmanship has earned him a reputation in the community as a specialist in his field and a "Master Polisher" by Cycle Magazine.
Joe has provided polishing services for some well known clients in the area including Profile Racing, Rositter's Harley Davidson, 58th Street Custom Cycles, Precision Cycle, Dyno Works, and Motorcycles and Model Railroad Musuem of Wisconsin, Inc just to name a few.
His interest has also been in the sport of drag racing where he has built and raced bugs, trucks, and several Yamaha RD 400's where he has attempted to set the world record in quarter mile speed for 2-strokes in this class.
